St. Augustine Amateur

The St. Augustine Amateur is open to amateur golfers who have received an invitation, applied for an invitation and been accepted or qualified through the qualifier. Past Champions, players finishing within the top twenty and ties, and top five mid-amateurs from the past two years are also exempt into the field.


54 hole stroke play with 84 players and no cut. There is a regular and Mid-Amateur division. The Mid-Amateur players are eligible for the best finish, but cannot win both prizes.

Walking Only During Tournament Play:

Competitors may carry their own bag, push or pull a non-motorized cart or bring a caddie. Unless prior arrangements are made with the approval of the committee, all competitors must walk during the competition.

Entry Procedure:

You may either submit an application for review to the committee or enter the local qualifier directly. When submitting an application for review please be sure to complete the application with your most up to date playing resume. Applicants are encouraged to submit their application via this web site as early as possible. Beginning July 16th the committee will begin confirming placements into the final field.

Entry Fee:

$299.00 – Tournament

$75.00 – Qualifier (qualifier fee is not used against tournament entry fee)

Practice Privileges:

For paid participants of the qualifier and the tournament, you are able to make practice round tee times up to three days in advance and can play for the cart fee at the current posted rate. Participants can bring a guest; they will be charged our twilight fee.


  • Before September 25th (refund $274.00)
  • Between September 25th and October 2nd (refund $185.00)
  • After October 2nd (no refund)

Disruption due to Storms, Hurricanes: In the event the tournament cannot be played on the expected dates due to course damage from storms prior to the event, or evacuations required due to an approaching storm, the tournament will be rescheduled at the earliest practicable date. Player entry fee refunds, if any, will only be made after consideration by the Committee of a suitable refund policy.
