Proceeds from The St. Augustine Amateur help support The First Tee of North Florida. The First Tee, a nonprofit, youth development organization, teaches young people of all backgrounds valuable life skills through the game of golf. The First Tee’s programs are designed around helping young people understand and ultimately develop Nine Core Values: honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy, and judgment. The First Tee’s curriculum was developed by experts in the field of positive youth development through sport and is delivered by caring adults (coaches) who have been formally trained by The First Tee.
At The First Tee, golf and life lessons are seamlessly incorporated into each experience. The First Tee of North Florida impacts over 3,000 children at the chapter and an additional 40,000+ young people through the National School Program, introducing the game of golf and its positive core values in the Physical Education setting. Programs for The First Tee of North Florida run all year.
