Invitation Criteria
Entry into the championship is by invitation, applications accepted by the Player Selection Committee or through the St. Augustine Amateur Qualifier.
A player will receive an invitation if a player is ranked in the top 100 in either the GolfWeek/Amateurgolf.com Rankings, top 25 in the AJGA Polo Golf Rankings, top 500 in the GolfWeek/Amateurgolf.com from the state of Florida.
Generally, the Player Selection Committee will extend invitations to all current USGA national champions (i.e. Amateur, Amateur Public Links, Mid-Amateur and Junior Amateur). Additionally major amateur competitions like the NCAA Division I Championship, Western Amateur, Porter Cup, Sunnehanna Amateur, Northeast Amateur, etc. As well as other major regional and state competitions.
Players who finished in the top 25 and Mid-Amateurs who finished in the top 5 among Mid-Ams the previous year will receive an invitation back to the event.
Invitations will be mailed to invitees in late July.
